There have been a number of good series dedicated to flamenco on Spanish television. The Andalusian television station Canal Sur broadcast a weekly programme called Flamenko, which is still available for watching. The ten programmes date from October through to December 2009 and are each are 60 minutes long.

If you go to this page and use their buscador, searching for ‘Flamenko’ you will bring up the list of programmes.

In the first programme which can be viewed herewe have the great pleasure of hearing the pianist David Peña ‘Dorantes’, singers José Mercé, ‘Pitingo’, Miguel Poveda, El Lebrijano performing with Arabic musicians, the guitarist Paco Cepero, a homage to Manolo Caracol, performers from the Albolote Prison in Granada, visiting flamenco bars and tables in Barcelona, and hearing lots of interviews with these artists and flamenco aficionados. Some of the interviews have subtitles in Spanish.

Another interesting series of six programmes available on Canal Sur are dedicated to the XV Bienal de Flamenco 2008 in Seville, presented by Tito Ortiz, and one of the six programmes from the Festival de Flamenco Almería in 2009again with lots of interviews as well as performances.
